Overview
Kaloud is a hookah brand focused on hookah systems and heat-management devices, with product lines that include Krysalis hookahs and the Lotus HMD family.
Founded by Reza Bavar in 2011, Kaloud introduced its first Lotus Heat Management Device in 2012 as part of its development of modern hookah equipment.
Features
The Kaloud Lotus is a heat-management device designed to replace foil and regulate heat transfer from charcoal to shisha, primarily through convection.
The Lotus I+ and I+3 are described as fitting most hookah bowls. Lotus II has different airflow and design elements, while Lotus III is another generation in the Lotus family.
Material combinations in the Krysalis range include glass and metal for Calix, wood, metal and glass for Eltheria, and wood and stone for Monarch.
Kaloud offers Samsaris hookah bowls, Sitra thermal diffusers and Ayara activated-carbon filters.
Sitra diffusers are offered in aluminum, glass and ceramic. The bowl needs sufficient depth to accommodate the diffuser. Ayara is an activated-carbon filter for hookah setups.
Questions
Many Kaloud products, including the Lotus HMD and Samsaris bowls, are described as fitting a wide range of standard hookahs. Bowls marketed as “Lotus-compatible” are described as potential alternatives when they have a similar diameter and rim shape.
